[dropcap2 variation=”coffee”]U[/dropcap2]nevaluated thoughts cause all kinds of trouble. When you don’t guard the gate, any ridiculous thought can roam around free.
The next time you’re angry, frustrated, confused, or anxious, stop! Take a deep breath. Stop the emotion train. Ask yourself, “What’s the thought behind that?”
Once you discover the thought behind the emotion, you can evaluate it. Is it a thought you want to entertain, or is it one you need to send packing?
A friend of mine calls this process “thought-stopping.” Once you interrupt the emotional electric current, you can get to the thought that set off the chain reaction.
Enough of being swept along on the current of unevaluated thoughts. It’s time we made those suckers behave!
