Most of us have tussled with this question. Most of us have an intellectual answer in our hip pockets. But experiencing an emotionally-connected answer is a different story. Our cerebral answers might be right, but our hearts can remain untouched.

Bethlehem. The King of the Universe (all things created by Him and for Him and through Him) was born in a stable, his first bed a feed trough. His parents, unable to secure a place to stay, wrap him in available rags. Not exactly a sanitary environment. This is God in human flesh.

Immanuel in the manger. This is God with you, God for you. His heart is revealed. God became human flesh for you. He wants to be with you, because he wants you. He came for you, and laid down his life for you. He conquered death thinking of you. He longs for you to experience him, walk with him and do life with him. You move his heart, because he loves you.

You are not a part of some package deal where he has to love you. He wants to love you, and he does – all the time, no matter what. He has written you into his Great Adventure and given you a purpose and destiny beyond your wildest dreams.

Rest, my friend. Bask in this wonderful light. Soak in this shoreless ocean. Lean into his embrace. He loves you.
