[dropcap2 variation=”coffee”]G[/dropcap2]eraldine was a down-to-earth, realistic lady. When her heart disease progressed to the point of needing hospice, she said to us, “I don’t need protecting. Tell me straight-up what’s going on. I can’t deal with what I don’t know.”
One night, chest pain and palpitations made for some miserable hours. When I saw Geraldine the next morning, she was pale and exhausted.
“I hate this,” she stammered. “Oh, well,” she continued. “We all have some bad days. So what?”
Do I expect life to be smooth? Yep, I do.
Silly.
Because I don’t like what happens, does that make it bad?
Nope.
Things that appear terrible can take us to new levels of living. Stealth blessings. They’re everywhere.
Embracing them takes courage.
Say it with me: I can embrace the unexpected as opportunity. Blessings often come disguised as difficulty.
Put on some new glasses today. Look through some new lenses. Live with new courage.
