[dropcap2 variation=”coffee”]M[/dropcap2]y youngest daughter was driving and we wound up next to a cemetery.
“Cool! Let’s cut through there,” I said.
She drove through the entrance and slowed to a crawl. She looked to the right and left. Finally, she stopped.
“Daddy, what’s the speed limit in here?”
I looked at her and grinned. Then both of us busted up laughing.
After she collected herself, she drove on, only to find that there was no outlet.
“Oops! A dead end!” she said. “Wahahahahaha!”
“Whew!” she continued. “Okay, now what do I do?”
“Back up, silly,” I answered.
She backed up, and turned down another path. Voila! A way out.
Sometimes we find ourselves where we’ve never been before. We’re not sure which road goes all the way through. We may discover the path we’re on is a dead end.
What do we do?
- Back up.
- Try another path.
- Find a way to laugh about it and have some fun along the way.
Eventually, if we stay at it, we’ll find the way through.
Are you facing a dead end, or perhaps several? You might feel stuck, but you’re really not. As long as God is real, there are always options. His road is the way through the dead places of life. Be encouraged. Back up if you need to. Make some adjustments. Stay at it.
And don’t forget to laugh. Laughter is a wonderful thing. It’s even better when you’re with someone you love deeply.
