[dropcap2 variation=”coffee”]”H[/dropcap2]ow do I know what God wants me to do?”
I get asked this a lot. It’s a biggie.
First consideration: Is there sin or evil involved? If so, it’s not God’s will.
That might sound obvious, but when our emotions get involved things gets muddled. We can want something bad enough that we manage to justify almost any action.
“Well, we’re going to get married anyway…”
“I asked God to provide, and they’ll never miss this money…”
“This addiction doesn’t affect anyone but me…”
“It’s just an emotional attachment. We’re not going to do anything…”
“God loves me, so he wouldn’t deny me this…”
“I know things will be better if I can just have…”
We’ve all done the justifying-it-because-we-really-want-it thing. It’s never worked out very well for me.
If you have to justify it, run. It’s most likely not from God. At best, it’s suspect.
I’m out of space for today. Tune in next time for the rest of the story.
