[dropcap2 variation=”coffee”]S[/dropcap2]ondra was celebrating her 102nd birthday. As they sang Happy Birthday in the nursing home dining room, I noticed something different. Sondra had pink hair.
Apparently the staff had given Sondra a new hat. They wrote her name around the inside of the brim with a red Sharpie. Sally wore the hat all morning. When they took it off – Viola!
Pink hair.
Sondra passed a week later. When I arrived at the visitation, everyone was smiling and laughing. Sure enough. Sondra still had pink hair.
What we surround ourselves with counts. It rubs off. Even more so the people we rub shoulders with.
This is all the more reason why we need to make wise choices. I guess it all depends on what color hair we want.
Say it with me: Courage is contagious. I’ll surround myself with courage-builders.
Name three people you think of as courageous. Over the next three days, connect with one each day. It’ll be worth it.
And do them a favor – tell them why you think they’re courageous. You’ll make a difference in their lives when you do.
