[dropcap2 variation=”coffee”]S[/dropcap2]ally had a stroke. She went from her home to an assisted living facility to a nursing home in a span of a few weeks. Her world was shrinking fast.
Yet, she always seemed to be smiling. Her face lit up when you walked in the room. “Hello there! So glad you’re here!” she’d say.
“Great to see you too, Sally,” I responded one day. “How’re you doing?”
“Well…I’m older than I was!” she said, grinning from ear to ear.
No kidding.
Time marches on. We’re older than we were.
Depressing? It depends.
Sally battled depression, anxiety, and fear. Yet, she continued engaging with the world. She encouraged those she encountered. She kept laughing.
That took incredible courage.
Now it’s our turn. We have today. Let’s make it count.
